Planet earth is called the Blue Planet because two third of the planet is covered with water – the wonder liquid of the universe. Water is considered as the priceless gift of nature. Water plays a major role in the life of all living beings, especially for humans. An average person in the developing world uses 2.64 gallons of water a day. About 70% of the earth is covered by water. Even though there is a great mass of water , only a small part of it is clean to be use for drinking, cooking and other purposes. Water is used for cultivation and almost 70% of the available fresh water gets used for irrigation in agriculture. If there is a drought season it is difficult to cultivate most of the crops. Then people will suffer without food and income. Water is also used for generating electricity. If a drought exists it may lead to power cuts and it will affect the economy of the country.
